This place is amazing! Always fresh, great ambiance, good specials. The elote (corn on the cob) is fantastic-a must try! Tacos are cheap and a la carte so you can try several items and have great variety. The patio is beautiful. One of the springs filters in here and makes a beautiful fountain. In classic old Eureka style, it is trimmed with natural stone and some of the most beautiful antique tiles in town. The cool water makes the patio a cool spot in the summer months. The service is excellent, especially by Eureka standards. Many reviewers for restaurants in town complain about the service. It's a much slower pace so don't go anywhere and think you are going to get fast service. The slow pace is part of the town's charm. Relax and enjoy your drink. By the way, Aquarius has a fantastic margarita menu.

We had been driving all day to get to Eureka Springs for Kansas City and had not stopped to eat lunch. Once we dropped everything off at our cottage we headed to Aquarius. We were so hungry and the food sounded so good that it was hard not to order one of everything. We finally settled on chips and salsa, veggie taco, shrimp taco, elote and a salad. Everything was so good, fresh and light. I also had the frozen house margarita and my daughter had the horchata. Both amazing, homemade and not too sweet. This place is owned by the same people that own Local Flavor and you can tell by the high quality and freshness of the ingredients. Bonus that this place is adorable with a cute patio and waterfall. Very sweet.

Really wanted to love it...all gluten free restaurants are hard to find! And the food WAS very good! But... Mexican restaurant with no Corona? Service was indifferent and slow. Portions were pretty small. Chips and salsa weren't complimentary - if they're not free they'd better be amazing...and they were just ok. My favorite was the carnitas taco. Delicious! The food would have been at least 4 stars but everything else knocked it back a star.

Friendly staff. Very good service. Terrific in fact. Beautiful patio and outdoor seating. It is worth coming for that. Very solid house margaritas. Tasty and fresh. We were told all is handmade and gluten free. We started with chips and salsa and guacamole. The chips were thick and seemed a bit on the overcooked side to me. They also needed salt. My girlfriend thought they were great. The guacamole was solid but nothing exceptional. Obviously fresh. The salsa used dried chilis in the salsa. Kinda like the guacamole for me. It was ok. Nothing special. If it was free like lots of Mexican restaurants then no big deal but when paying I want something special. My girlfriend got the plantain and vegetarian taco. She said the plantain was incredible and one of the best tacos she has had. Loved the tortillas. Said the vegetable was boring and had too much celery. I got the asada and carnitas. Both of the meats were perfectly cooked. Well done on that front. The asada had a flavor I didn't particularly care for but not bad. The carnitas were terrific though. I really enjoyed them. I would definitely come back. The negatives are really nitpicking because I love good Mexican and love Local Flavor.

Very fun and delicious place. The kids loved it because of sidewalk chalk out front, crayons at the table etc. The service was great and food was delish and seemed to be the very locally sourced, made from scratch kind of fare that I love. I had one carnita taco and one vegetarian (vegetable offering of the day) taco- so good!. My strawberry/blackberry water was yummy...a little pricey for not including a complimentary refill though. Chips and salsa were very good and homemade. Kids chicken, bean and rice plate was a very good portion and tasty....not dumbed down kid's food which is a big pet peeve of mine. Wish I would've had room for some flan or sweet plantains but we were too full!

So, if there's a new Mexican restaurant, I have to try it. This one is absolutely wonderful, with the acceptation of their home-made chips, which, despite good intentions, just don't make the grade. For that, they fall one short of 5 stars, as everything else there is excellent. Our favorite treat there was the roasted corn, with mayo. and chili powder. Don't scoff till you've tried it; it is a flavor party!! Then there are the tacos, on handmade corn tortillas, smothered in meat, avocados, veggies and drizzled with just enough sauce. If you haven't been here, you need to put it on your "must try" list.

We really enjoyed the homemade chips and guacamole here. They serve a corn with mayo and spices that was so good! Had I known the corn was so good I would have just made a meal out of the corn. Our entrees themselves weren't outstanding, but the appetizers were good. The tortillas were homemade and really added to the dish.

Fish taco's and margaritas were just right. We had great good a great time. Different salsa's and guacamole. Yummy and fresh. Family of 4 sat on the patio and it was perfect. Adorable decor with stained glass windows in the ladies restroom. Great wait staff. I look forward to our next trip back from Oklahoma.

So we came to this place and we r very disappointed. We seat there for a long time and no one wil come over at list to offer water. So the service sucks really bad. If they can't handle the clientele hire more people or do something about it.

Fabulous! Owned by the same people who brought you Local Flavor Restaurant. This quaint little place is a 10 on ambiance and a 9.5 on food! Service was outstanding and the owner's husband Britt dropped by to say hello and tell us the story. Tacos were a 9.5 out of 10 but only because I thought they could use less cumin. Margaritas were awesome!

Maybe the best tacos I've ever had in my life!! Service and patio were excellent as well. I did have to knock off one star due to the fact that the beer wasn't cold at all. Server said we weren't the first to notice, and that the staff alerted management to this, so hopefully they'll remedy it! I'm wishing I had another carnitas taco as I write this. SO good!!

Great tacos. We had camarones, carnitas and pescado - all great. Chips were a bit overcooked, but okay.

Cute place. Several interesting taco options, including two vegetarian tacos. Aquarius also offers salads and entrees besides tacos (though, the food is all very similar). I tried the veggie taco and the plantain taco. The veggie was my favorite of the two. The plantain needed something to tone it down a bit- or another flavor to add some competition. I love that they offer roasted jalepenos and pickled red onions as sides. The patio looks nice and has it's own spring- looks like it will be a wonderful place to spend time during warm weather. I loved all the stained glass inside and the music was awesome!

This is a "must go" spot in Eureka Springs. We started off with the Nachos, Salsa and Guacamole. YUM! Fresh salsa, delicious flavors, lightly salted.. I could barely stop eating it. We also had Mexican Coke and two Cantaloupe aqua frescas. Delicious. We ordered six tacos. Chicken, Beef, Fish, Shrimp, Plantain and Barbacoa (pork). Most of them were quite good, but two (or three) stand out as amazing tacos that you really shouldn't miss. The fish was a spectacular combination of flavors. Not too spicy, and the combination of cabbage and fried fish will keep you coming back to this place. The Barbacoa was really neat. Cooked and then crisped, the flavors were a mesmerizing combination. The plantain was an unexpected hit too. If you like it spicy - Check out the shrimp. If I lived here, I would be back weekly.

Came here to try to salvage our dinner after having a horrible experience at Casa Colina (down the street) which I don't recommend going to. But this restaurant was a lot better with homemade tortillas and over filled tacos we were pleased. A little over priced but it is expected due to the location.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
